The baby brown Burmese, Burlamien Andenika, made her debut to the world of cat shows by being Best Overall (Cat of the Day) at the 37th international CASA WCF show in Cape Town on 10 December 2011.  She was 5 months and one week old.

This was no mean achievement considering that the show was star-studded with many WCF international grand champions and cats that were also National Qualifiers on the SACC Cat of the Year circuit.

She was, of course, also Best Kitten on that show. The judges (on the photo to the left) who made the final decision were: Jane Vermeulen (left), Alan Edwards (back) and Tanja Milligan (right).

There was a hilarious moment during the Best Kitten judge-off. One of the other contestants for Best Kitten was a black Sphynx.

One must appreciate that Andenika at that stage in her life became used to being amongst long hair cats. So, when she saw the hairless Sphynx, the hair on Andenika's spine spiked up like the mane of a horse. She reared backwards, speechless and in total shock. The Sphynx had a similar reaction, but there was no hair to spike up. So it spiked up his little naked body, staring at Andenika.

Both cats remained speechless while staring at each other. No sound was uttered. The following probably went through Andenika's mind: "What on earth is this? A rat, a bat or a cat? A
m I supposed to eat it?"
