Lyonesse joins her daughters at Cherie Belle, KZN

L'Dearheart Lyonesse left Cape Town together with her daughter Cherie-Finesse Leila on Friday, 3 August 2012. Leila came for a mating all the way from KZN. Lyonesse was also mated during the same time. We hope that both will fall pregnant!

Lyonesse's rehoming is part of Cherie-Finesse cattery's strategy to scale down on breeding and the number of cats in the cattery. A few of our breeding cats will go breeders who are as passionate about the breed as we are.

Scaling down is a reality that goes with getting on in years and the toll of old age. Deo volente, Alida turns 60 next year. She had a patch of bad health during June and July 2012, which made it very difficult for her to take care of the grooming of so many longhair cats.

Three of the performing neutered cats also found new homes so far: Leeutjie, Engeltjie and Prince Diamond. They are kept in good shape by their new owners, and may still be used in performing.
