About us‎ > ‎

Our values and standards

We run four major programs: breeding, showing, filming and knowledge management. In each of these, we strive to live up to certain values, and follow a code of standards. Our key values are:
  • Quality of life
  • Quality of environment
  • Quality of health
  • Quality of relationship
  • Quality of work.

Quality of life

We believe that each cat must have a good quality of life.

  • Consistent, daily, physical, human contact.
  • Enough space and facilities to maintain a healthy physical body.
  • Regular bathing at least every six weeks.
  • Full grooming at least once a week.
  • Re-homing of retired cats if they can have a better quality of life.

Quality of environment

We believe that our physical environment must be clean, healthy, comfortable and safe. Our cattery management therefore includes:

  • Litter (clumping) cleaned at least once a day, more often if needed.
  • Litter trays washed and disinfected at least twice a week, more often if needed.
  • Bedding washed at least once a week, more often if needed.
  • Floors disinfected at least three times a week.
  • Fresh water and food in clean bowls daily.
  • Flea control program.

Quality of health

We believe prevention is better than cure. Our health care management includes:

  • Annual visits to the vet.
  • Inoculations kept up to date.
  • Deworming every 3 weeks.
  • Fungal preventative program.
  • Good quality food.
  • Queen virus profiling before mating.
  • Our bloodlines are PKD free.

Quality of relationships

We believe that our passion for the breed will spread through good relationship with humans.

  • Always be friendly, patient and helpful with the public.
  • Walk the extra mile with each customer.
  • Encourage networking to share the passion.
  • Be fair, transparent and open.
  • Be honest - even if the truth hurts.

Quality of work

We believe that a legacy lives on in the quality of the work products that it leaves behind.

  • Often one gets only one chance - give the best.
  • Screen prospective new kitten owners.
  • Cattery open days to transfer knowledge and prepare new owners.
  • Research genetics and share knowledge.
  • Immaculate grooming for shows and performances.
